What Pocket MBA collects, why, and what stays on your phone.
- You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your progress (lessons, answers, cases, streak, saved questions) stays on your device.
- We use PostHog to understand how the app is used, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. Both see an anonymous identifier, never who you are.
- Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card or Apple ID details.
- No ads, no tracking across other apps, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
Pocket MBA is made by Alexis Lentati ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to pocket.mba.app@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Your learning is stored on your iPhone: the lessons you've read, your answers and review schedule, the cases you've played, your streak, rank, badges and certificates, your saved questions, your learning goal and reminder settings, and the name you type for your profile and certificates. Your name is never sent anywhere. Deleting the app, or using "Reset progress" in Settings, erases this data.
What our service providers receive
Apple: purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment under its own privacy policy. The app only learns whether your subscription is active.
RevenueCat: subscriptions
RevenueCat checks your App Store purchases so the app knows whether you have Premium, and records subscription events (trials, purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds). It receives an anonymous user identifier, your App Store transaction and subscription details, device and app information (device model, iOS version, language, region, app version) and your IP address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
PostHog: usage analytics
We use PostHog to learn which parts of the app are used and where it can be improved. It receives an anonymous identifier created for this app, events such as screens viewed; lessons, quizzes, questions and cases started and finished, with whether each answer was right; your onboarding answers (learning goal, daily time, reminder time, the character you picked, and whether you entered a name, never the name itself); your progress figures (rank, streak, lessons completed); subscription screens shown and purchases; and device and app information with an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address. It also records some app sessions as screen recordings to help us find what's confusing; text you type and your name are hidden from these recordings. It does not receive your name, email or the text of your answers, and we don't use the advertising identifier. See PostHog's privacy policy.
Superwall: versions 1.x only
Versions 1.x of the app use Superwall to show the onboarding and subscription screens. It receives an anonymous user identifier, device and app information, your onboarding answers, how many lessons you have completed, and events about the subscription screens. Version 2.0 and later no longer use Superwall. See Superwall's privacy policy.
Notifications
Reminders (your daily reminder, a reminder before your streak ends, and the end of an offer) are scheduled on your iPhone. They don't go through a server, and you can turn them off in Settings at any time.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to answer you.
Why we process this data
- To provide the app and your subscription (performing our agreement with you).
- To understand how the app is used and improve it, including the onboarding and subscription screens (our legitimate interest in running and improving Pocket MBA).
How long it's kept
Data on your device stays until you delete the app or reset your progress. Usage events are kept only as long as we need them to improve the app, and screen recordings are deleted after 30 days. RevenueCat keeps subscription records as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal obligations. Superwall keeps its data according to its own policy.
Where it's processed
PostHog, RevenueCat and Superwall process data in the United States. They rely on safeguards recognised by EU law, such as standard contractual clauses, described in their own policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Because we don't know who you are, write to pocket.mba.app@gmail.com and we'll help you find and remove what the providers hold about your device.
Children
Pocket MBA is not intended for children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union), and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
